Leicester City ended Birmingham City’s unbeaten Championship run with a 2-0 victory at the King Power Stadium on Friday night.

Abdul Fatawu opened the scoring after just eight minutes, latching onto Louis Page’s pass to beat goalkeeper Ryan Allsop. The Ghanaian winger has now scored in back-to-back league matches.
Birmingham pushed for an equaliser after the break, with Kyogo Furuhashi going closest, but the visitors were denied by a sharp save from Jakub Stolarczyk late on.
Ricardo Pereira sealed the points two minutes from time, finishing off a fine cross from 16-year-old debutant Jeremy Monga, who impressed after coming off the bench.
The result handed Birmingham their second straight defeat in all competitions, following their Carabao Cup exit, while Leicester climbed to third in the table after extending their home winning run to four league matches.
Both sides are now set for a short break before returning to action on September 13, with Leicester travelling to Oxford United and Birmingham away to Stoke City.
